Job Summary
The Fiscal Supervisor reports to the Deputy Controller and the City Controller and is responsible for performing and reviewing professional accounting work for the City Controller’s Office.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Plans and assigns tasks, instructs, supervises and provides solutions related to all duties of the professional Fiscal Office staff.
2. Assists the Deputy Controller and City Controller in all financial duties within the Controller’s Office.
3. Responsible for reviewing the daily, weekly, and monthly tasks performed by the fiscal staff to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
4. Assists in the preparation of the annual external audit including, but not limited to, providing work papers, supporting schedules, and financial documentation.
5. Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
6. Assists in the maintenance of financial records of the City in accordance with GAAP for municipalities.
7. Responsible for analyzing and reviewing account receivables, cash reconciliations, and other reconciliations between subsidiary and general ledger accounts.
8. Performs data processing duties as necessary and must have extensive knowledge of applicable City computer software.
9. Performs additional duties and responsibilities at the request of the Deputy Controller and City Controller.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business administration or accounting.
2. Minimum of three (3) years experience in accounting and auditing.
3. Must have supervisory and/or management experience
4. Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job.
5. Experience with MS Office products, specifically MS Word and Excel.
