Job Summary

As a Visitor Experience Associate at the RWP Botanical Center, you will be the friendly face that greets visitors, provides essential information, and ensures their time at the center is enjoyable. Your role combines customer service, orientation, and data collection to enhance the overall visitor experience.  This is a part-time position.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  1. Greeting and Orientation:
    • Welcome visitors with a warm smile and provide an overview of the center.
    • Answer frequently asked questions about exhibits, programs, and events.
    • Assist with wayfinding and guide visitors to different areas.
  2. Safety and Policies:
    • Ensure visitors adhere to guidelines and policies.
    • Safeguard the location by monitoring visitor behavior and reporting any issues.
    • Handle visitor complaints and find appropriate solutions.
  3. Promotion and Membership:
    • Promote upcoming events, membership programs, and resources.
    • Encourage visitors to explore membership options.
    • Provide information on educational programs and resources available.
  4. Data Collection:
    • Assist with visitor research projects by capturing data.
    • Conduct gallery observations, surveys, and interviews.
    • Help gather valuable insights to improve the visitor experience.
    • Close out daily sales and utilize reporting procedures for accuracy.
  5. Emergency Preparedness:
    • Understand safety protocols and respond effectively during emergencies.
    • Ensure visitors’ well-being and guide them to safety if needed.
  6. Other Job Duties as Assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Customer Service Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable handling various visitor inquiries and situations.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure accurate data collection.
  • Software:  POS ability, Meta suite, basic Microsoft skills.
  • Safety Awareness: Familiarity with emergency procedures.
  • Passion for Botanical Education: Interest in plants, nature, and conservation.
