Job Summary
Under the supervision of up-line personnel performs skilled and responsible work using accepted landscaping and maintenance practices; and related work as required.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Work requires the treatment, fertilizing, seeding, mowing, and caring of soil and lawns.
- Plants a wide variety of bulbs, flowering plants, shrubs, and other vegetative material.
- Prunes a wide variety of trees including oriental species.
- Creates and maintains floral gardens and displays; follows planned landscape designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers.
- Drives department vehicles not requiring a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Thorough knowledge of mechanical equipment and tools for lawn cutting and weed trimming operations.
- Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver’s License.
- Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job.
Training Requirements
The term “limited” means that the successful candidate will perform the job for an undetermined length of time. The position may or may not become permanent.
