Job Summary
Under supervision of Design Team Manager, is responsible for supporting the design team and maintenance divisions by providing technical assistance and support on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, irrigation, security and fire prevention systems and vertical renovation and construction projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepares reports and project assessments as required.
- Assists with preparation of design documents, detailed specifications and precise cost estimates and evaluations that conform to all federal, state, and City codes and standards.
- Prepares material for proposals for consultant design and engineering services and reviews bid results.
- Supports complex construction projects by parks staff and by contractors including, but not limited to, project inspections, contract management, and financial oversight.
- Provides technical expertise including assessment, mitigation and renovations of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, irrigation, security and fire prevention systems and vertical renovation and construction projects.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, planning, or HVAC training, from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Minimum of three to five years professional experience in the field of Engineering, planning, or HVAC improvements.
- Knowledge and experience in, Microsoft Suite. Knowledge and experience in preparation of to scale drawings in AutoCAD and ArcGIS preferred.
- Must be able to interpret project plans, details, shop drawings and site surveys.
- Must possess excellent oral communications and writing skills.
- Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver’s License.
- Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job.
Training Requirements
Upon Appointment:
- Must be able to gain a working knowledge of departmental technology and database systems through on-the-job usage and training within six (6) months.
Sustainment:
- Must maintain a valid State Driver’s License.
- Periodic training to maintain proficiency in department technology and database systems.
- Participation in customer service training every 36 months.
- CPSI Certification within 6 months
