Job Summary

Under supervision of up-line management, is responsible for the general maintenance of all Providence Water facilities; provides janitorial, custodial, and seasonal maintenance duties; instructions are provided in detail, but work is performed independently with minimum supervision; and related work as required.

This position is from 1:00pm-9:30pm

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Operates building heating and air-conditioning systems, exhaust fans, and emergency generators.
  2. Performs painting work as assigned.
  3. Perform janitorial and/or custodial duties including, but not limited to, cleaning and washing walls, ceiling, floors, stairwells, bathrooms, windows, and carpets.
  4. Performs seasonal duties outside the facility including cutting grass, raking leaves, grounds maintenance, snow removal, and clearing walkways by hand.
  5. Utilizes small gas and electric power tools and hand tools.
  6. Operates Providence Water vehicles to pick up and transport materials to various Providence Water locations.
  7. Adheres to all Providence Water safety procedures.
  8. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. High school graduate or equivalent.
  2. Experience in minor plumbing and electrical repairs.
  3. Experience and skill in the operation of small power and hand tools.
  4. Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver’s License and is responsible to maintain all vehicles maintenance logs.
  5. Ability to understand and carry out complex oral and written instructions.
  6. Ability to perform arduous work under adverse weather conditions.
  7. Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job.

Training Requirements

 Upon Appointment: 

  1. Customer Service Training
  2. Sexual Harassment, Sensitivity, and Diversity Training

Sustainment:

  1. Participation in customer service training every 24 months.
  2. Must maintain a valid State Driver’s License.

The term “limited” means that the successful candidate will perform the job for an undetermined length of time. The position may or may not become permanent.
