Job Summary
The City Council of Providence is seeking a self-motivated individual interested in supporting the project management team for the City Council. This position offers the opportunity for Project Managers to gain governmental experience in supporting the Director of Project Management in various infrastructure and capital improvement projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
Includes but are not limited to the following:
- Managing and monitoring assigned City Council projects from planning stages to completion
- Staffing meetings with relevant stakeholders for project updates
- Disseminating relevant information to City Council & coordinating project advancement with Administrative departments
- Utilizing project management dashboards to track & document project progress, communications and funding balances
- Preparing procurement documents, submitting requests for purchase orders and submit payment for invoices on Council projects
- Staffing relevant committee and community meetings to stay engaged with Councilors and their constituencies needs
- Reporting to Director of Project Management on projects progression, obstacles, and opportunities
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- PMP Certification highly recommended
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Forms, Excel, Outlook)
- Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Ability to manage multiple complex project tasks in a timely manner
- Communication skills to disseminate project updates in a clear, and accurate manner
- Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
