Job Summary
This is a 35-hour per week full-time position. Data and Evaluation Manager who will report to the Housing & Human Services Director. The Data and Evaluation Manager will work with the Director and other staff to support evaluation and data management of public health programs, initiatives, and policies.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop survey instruments and assessments for primary data collection; and secondary data analysis related to design, analysis, evaluation, and advocacy for public health and community development initiatives.
- Monitor and support data collection and management.
- Conduct Needs Assessments to systematicallyidentify problems and service gaps in a target community and assist in strategic plan development.
- Present data analysis and evaluation results for diverse audiences (i.e. scientific, policy, community); utilize data visualization tools as appropriate.
- Provide technical assistance and training to staff, multi-disciplinary teams, and stakeholders, as directed.
- Respond to data analysis requests by internal and external stakeholders.
- Generate reports of findings for funders, partners, and the public.
- Work independently and produce high quality deliverables in short time frames; carefully work on numerous aspects of the program in a given week.
- Work collaboratively with other city departments and community partners.
- Other data and evaluation responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum three (3) years of experience evaluating and coordinating data for community-based public health programs.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in public health, public administration, health science, or related field (master’s degree preferred).
- Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and public speaking.
- Initiative to launch and complete long-term projects.
- Ability to work well with others and be a highly flexible and collaborative team player.
- Ability to carefully monitor quality and work closely with partners on performance improvement if necessary.
- Experience with project management, data visualization tools, relational databases, and query tools.
- Ability to present population health and health care data in a manner that supports decision making.
- Strong command Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Access.
- Commitment to public health and desire to assist in improvement of public health systems.
- Experience working on grant funded projects a strong plus.
- Written and verbal fluency in Spanish or other languages spoken by substantial communities in Providence a strong plus.
Salary/Benefits:
Grade A12 (starting salary of $58,366 in FY24) with health care, vacation and retirement benefits. This position is grant funded and dependent upon available funds.
