Job Summary

The Mayor’s Office is seeking a Part-time Mayoral Advance staff member. The Mayoral Advance team is responsible for conducting research, preparing event briefings and memoranda, and coordinating with community leaders and other City staff to manage event logistics, both proactively and on-site.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Attend events with the Mayor and provide on-site support
  2. Conduct research and create event briefing materials
  3. Serve as a liaison to community organizations and other public agencies
  4. Work closely with the Mayor’s scheduling, security, communications, and community relations teams to ensure proper event coordination
  5. Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience in the field of public administration, advocacy, event management, or writing and communications
  2. Extremely well-honed oral and written communication skills
  3. Strong sense of professionalism and demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment
  4. Ability to exercise discretion and interact professionally with colleagues and external partners
  5. High attention to detail
  6. Ability to work both independently and cooperatively as a member of a team
  7. Availability to work during non-traditional office hours, which could include some evenings, holidays, and weekends
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office
